It’s Me
Yurani is actually my middle name – it’s Hindi for Queen. And I could give you the rundown about all the pineapples… but isn’t it obvious? ”

I’ve been doing freelance work since high-school. My major was Media & Communications (Yes, I had a major in high school! #bthsalumni) and as I figured out how to use the creative tools I began designing stickers, pins, flyers, and banners for a friend who was in the student government. That opened my services to other clubs at my school who wanted to get t-shirt designs, cups, and other branded items printed.
In college I started doing work study to get a little extra spending money. My first design job came up with me being in the right place at the right time. I happened to be doodling – sketching the secretary on a quiet day when the director of the Residence Life Office noticed and called me over. The next few days I worked on a 24” by 72” sign for a student event, and from then on, I did flyers, graphics, and other designs for that office.
I got my first full time design role as a Junior Designer with Natural Markets Food Group. I was hired for their Richtree brand where I worked on anything from the sales/mailer ads to in-store signage, to coming up with ideas and design for the décor for a related restaurant. I learned a lot of “inside” food photography tips here and had my first opportunity to show off my web development skills.
My most recent role was as Senior Designer at Good2bSocial. This was one my favorite experiences as I was able to gain more marketing experience. Although I wasn’t directly involved in analyzing the data, I worked with the account managers who did review information gathered from our campaigns. The ability to see how our client’s audience responds to design elements such as the color of a call to action (CTA) text or the size of a button is so insightful. This was helpful to me as a designer as it helped me to refine each individual clients’ branding.
